Questions doctors ask us
Does it work for teleconsultations?
Yes. Alongside your microphone, SLYM can capture the audio of a browser tab — your video consultation on Meet, Teams or Zoom — or mix both together so you capture your voice and the patient's. Only the sound is transcribed; nothing is filmed or stored as video.
What if the transcription gets something wrong?
You review and correct the transcript before generating anything, and you can edit the finished clinical note in a full rich-text editor afterwards. SLYM drafts — you decide what goes in the record.
Which languages are supported?
SLYM currently works in English, and clinical notes follow UK clinical conventions and spelling. Support for additional languages is on our roadmap — tell us which one you need.
Can I create templates for my specialty?
Yes, and there's no limit. Describe the sections you want in plain English and SLYM will follow that structure. Templates can stay private to you, be shared with your team, or be published across your organisation — and every version is kept, so you can see exactly how any past note was produced.
What happens to my recordings and notes?
Your recordings, transcripts and clinical notes are tied to your account and visible only to you — other doctors on your team cannot see them. Audio is processed to produce the transcript, and every action on your data is written to an audit log you can review. Deleting a recording removes its transcript and generated notes with it.
How do I get started?
Create your account from the register page and start recording consultations right away. If you want onboarding support or to add colleagues, talk to us and we'll set your practice up.
Do I need to install anything?
No. SLYM runs in your browser at app.slym.ai. You can optionally install it as an app on your desktop or phone for one-tap access to a new recording. Capturing system audio for teleconsultations requires a desktop Chrome or Edge browser.
